Jaipur Ranthambore Jawai

The Three Cats is our longest cat-focused journey — Jhalana's habituated leopards, Ranthambore's tigers, and the granite-hill leopards of Jawai, read across a single arc. Open all year because the opening leg is.
Jaipur is the obvious place to start. The airport is fifteen minutes from Jhalana's gate, and two morning drives in the reserve give most travellers their first close leopard in daylight. From there, the route turns south to Ranthambore for tigers in a different forest, and on to Jawai's shepherd country for a third landscape entirely.
Delhi / International → Jaipur
Met on arrival at Jaipur's airport or rail station. Fifteen minutes to the property. Briefing from your naturalist over dinner.
Jhalana Leopard Reserve
Two drives, dawn and dusk, in India's first leopard reserve. Diurnal cats, habituated to vehicles. The old city in the middle of the day, by choice.
Jhalana / Amagarh
Two further drives, weighted toward the quieter Amagarh extension if the reserve is busy. A long afternoon in the city — an observatory or a block-printer's workshop on the way back.
Jaipur → Sawai Madhopur
Private vehicle or rail to Sawai Madhopur — around 3.5 hours. Settle in by the afternoon. Briefing on the next day's zone allocation.
Ranthambore National Park
Two drives. Morning into the historic core if the draw allows. Afternoon drive across a different zone. Your naturalist reads the board as it builds.
Ranthambore National Park
Two further drives. Often the productive day — your naturalist now has a read on resident tigresses. Light walk to the fort ruins if conditions allow.
Sawai Madhopur → Jawai
Longer transit day — around seven hours of road, broken with stops. Arrive Jawai in the late afternoon. Brief evening drive if the light holds.
Jawai Hills
Two drives, the classic Jawai rhythm. First light on the granite. Afternoon drive through the shepherd villages and out toward the reservoir.
Jawai → Udaipur
Morning drive to Udaipur airport — about three hours. Connecting flight, or extended stay in Udaipur on request.
